Lazio are not expecting Miroslav Klose and Stefan De Vrij to be fit until after October’s international break.

The forward and the defender are both injured, and their absence has been keenly felt, with the Biancocelesti losing their two Serie A away games so far by a combined score of 9-0.

Antonio Candreva will also be out for the matches against Genoa and Verona, having missed last night’s 5-0 defeat away to Napoli.

“Today we performed test on Antonio Candreva,” team doctor Stefano Salvatori told Lazio Style Radio.

“Today we performed test on Antonio Candreva,” team doctor Stefano Salvatori told Lazio Style Radio.

“The MRI scans showed a sprained ankle, but no serious lesions. The tests revealed a hematoma, so Antonio will not be available for either Wednesday’s game or Sunday.

“Now the goal is to make sure he’s available for the Europa League game [against Saint-Étienne] next Thursday. The positive news is that Candreva can walk unassisted.

“As for Stefan De Vrij and Miroslav Klose, their return is expected after the international break in mid-October.

“As for Lucas Biglia, we’ll see how he is on Thursday morning, and whether he can be available for Sunday.”
