Antonio Candreva felt Inter “deserved the victory” after their last-gasp 2-2 draw with rivals Milan.

Suso scored twice, but a Candreva screamer and Ivan Perisic volley deep into stoppages ensured the Derby della Madonnina shared the spoils.

“A fine derby from us, we deserved the victory and achieved the point with merit,” Candreva told Mediaset Premium.

“The two Milan goals were both counter-attacks, so we need to improve on our defending.

“We are Inter, we have to be in the top spots of the table. Now we need to climb back up and improve by using this performance as the foundation, because it was a great match.”

Candreva was also asked about the reported problems he had with new Inter Coach Stefano Pioli when they were at Lazio last year.

“Enough of this, it’s getting dragged out and there’s nothing to say.”
