Former Roma full-back Vincent Candela said he has ‘a lot of faith’ in Jose Mourinho, who will take over at the Giallorossi ahead of 2021-22.

The Special One will replace Paulo Fonseca next month and prepare for the next season in Serie A.

Candela, who was part of the Scudetto winning Roma side in 2000-01 and picked up the Supercoppa Italiana in 2001-02, believes the former Inter coach will bring some joy to the Giallorossi fans.

“I expect a better season than the one just finished, which was very difficult,” Candela told Calciomercato.it.

“Mourinho is a winner and I have a lot of faith in him, even for three or four signings. Surely, we will get some joy.”

Mourinho, who has turned 58, spent two seasons at the Nerazzurri between 2008 and 2010, and won the Scudetto in his first season before he picked up the famous Treble in 2009-10.
