Juventus right-back Joao Cancelo warns Valencia are “a great team”, and it’s a special game for him “because I was there for three years”.
The Bianconeri will secure at least second place in their Champions League group if they avoid defeat tomorrow night, but things became complicated when they lost to Manchester United last time out.
“I think that was a bit of a particular match,” Cancelo said in the pre-match Press conference.
“We had a lot of chances, we played better than them and we deserved to win. Sometimes football isn’t fair though and we lost, even though we deserved to win.
“Valencia are a great team and playing matches like this is always special, particularly for me as I was there for three years.
“Tomorrow I need to put that to one side though because I represent Juventus now and we need three points to advance to the next round. That’s what we’ll try to do.
“When I can I always watch their games, but maybe not all of them because sometimes I’m playing so I can’t.
“As I said though I think Valencia are a team with excellent players, but also one with good organisation.
“They’ve managed to take points in the last few games, but we also need points to go through.
“Who would I take to Juventus? I don’t know, there are a lot of good ones so I don’t know who to choose. We have a lot of quality players too.”
Cancelo has been compared to Dani Alves, and he was asked what he lacks to become the world’s best right-back.
“That’s a difficult question! That’s up to the Coach to say, not me.
“For me Alves is the best full-back in the world, I have no doubt about that.”
