With just eight Serie A games ahead of them, do Genoa have a genuine shot of escaping the relegation zone just in the nick of time?

The Rossoblu have not lost a game since Alexander Blessin took over from Andriy Shevchenko back in January, picking up 10 points from their eight games under the German coach. Draws against Inter, Roma and Atalanta in particular stood out as the Grifone showed their grit in a battle to avoid slipping into Serie B.

Genoa’s win over Torino this evening was vital, being Blessin’s first win in charge. The team now have eight games to try and claw their way out of the relegation zone, but they have a tall task ahead of them.

Other games where Genoa could aim to pick up wins include the derby against Sampdoria, their next game against Hellas Verona and the final game of the season against Bologna.
