Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini admits Joel Campbell is 'unattainable' unless Arsenal become more flexible.

The Rosanero had reportedly given up on the 23-year-old last week, but there have been mixed reports in the Press since.

The Daily Express ran the line that Campbell was on the verge of moving to the Sicilian side for the agreed price of €10m, but Zamparini contradicted that in an interview with Il Giornale di Sicilia.

The Daily Express ran the line that Campbell was on the verge of moving to the Sicilian side for the agreed price of €10m, but Zamparini contradicted that in an interview with Il Giornale di Sicilia.

“I'm here in London to try a final drive for the player, but Arsenal aren't moving from their initial positions,” he said.

“Campbell is unattainable as of now. If some margins open up for a negotiation then all for the better, otherwise we can't do anything.

“Our market campaign is aimed towards reinforcing our roster, but we don't want to overcrowd our attack because we'll end up with seven players for two spots.”

The 74-year-old also spent a few words for new signing Uros Durdevic.

“With Durdevic we're going to complete our squad, we're aware that we picked up a talented player.

“He was the signing we were looking for to reinforce the team.”
