Esteban Cambiasso has urged Inter critics to look at the performance against Marseille on Wednesday rather than the result.
The Nerazzurri fell to their fourth straight loss after they conceded in injury time of their last 16 Champions League first leg match.
“What Inter did this evening is nothing like what we did in the previous games,” the Argentine told Sky Sport Italia after the 1-0 reverse.
“Looking at things on the surface you might think they're all the same, but we saw a reaction tonight.”
It’s also true that despite the loss at the Stade Vélodrome, the Italian giants still have a chance of reaching the last eight of the competition.
“Of course we're disappointed that we lost, but if it hadn't been for that set piece we might be standing here looking at things in a very different way,” added the former Real Madrid man.
“Our chances of going through? We feel we have a good opportunity after the way we played tonight.”
