The midfielder’s current deal expires on June 30 and so far negotiations have faltered, so the Corriere della Sera reports he is increasingly irritated at the situation.

Cambiasso also spoke to fans at the Inter Supporters club on Tuesday and some of his comments have now emerged in the media.

“I hope to lift another trophy with you as a player. If that doesn’t happen, you still won’t be rid of me! Maybe I’ll lift it as a Coach instead,” he was quoted as saying by FcInterNews.

“You know full well that you need two signatures on a contract to make it valid. Mine has been on there since I first arrived in Milan.

“I have two families: the one waiting for me at home and Inter.”

There are several Nerazzurri heroes who look set to leave as free agents, because Javier Zanetti is retiring and Walter Samuel has been heavily linked with a move to Fiorentina.
