Jose Callejon celebrates a victory over Cagliari that brings ‘life’ to Fiorentina, but thinks facing his old club Napoli will be quite ‘an experience.’

The Spaniard provided the assist for Dusan Vlahovic after Bartlomiej Dragowski saved a Joao Pedro penalty for their first home win since October.

“You live and die with results, there’s no denying it, and we needed this win like air,” Callejon told Sky Sport Italia.

“You live and die with results, there’s no denying it, and we needed this win like air,” Callejon told Sky Sport Italia.

“This victory brings life to the team, the fans, the club and everyone. We needed this.”

It was also a boost for the veteran, who has struggled to get playing time for Fiorentina since joining as a free agent.

“It was a bit of a strange period for me, as over the years I always played for Napoli, so wasn’t used to being on the bench.

“I am pig-headed, though, and I believe if you keep working, then that will pay off in the end.”

Napoli are up next and Callejon will be at the arena now renamed the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

“It will be wonderful and also very strange, going back to the San Paolo after seven years as an opponent for the first time. It’ll be an experience.”
