The Spanish winger impressed in his debut Serie A campaign last season, but saw links to Atletico Madrid to begin the summer with, and this week an issue over a lack of effort see him dismissed from a training session early.

However, on from his Coach’s words on both situations meaning nothing to his future at the San Paolo, the 27-year-old as reiterated his mindset.

“I can say that I am good at Napoli and I am happy,” Callejon has told Marca this week.

“The club and Coach believe in me and have great respect towards me. They have been very happy with my performances, and I will try to reciprocate their trust by always doing my best.

“The fact I am playing with continuity gives me confidence, it makes me happy and proud. And it is the best for a footballer.”

Callejon considered his work so far at Napoli and the ambitions for next season.

“That which just ended was a big season for me. Benitez helped me a lot. My objectives? I hope to score more goals than last season, but the Scudetto is our real objective.

“In the Champions League we are thinking of progressing to the group stages – the dream is to one day play in the final because it is something unique.

“We are ambitious and want to do well in Europe, although it will not be easy to achieve the ultimate dream, because there are so many strong teams. But then again, the Scudetto is our objective for this season.

“Last year we had a good season finishing third and having a great group stage in the Champions League.

“To win the title, however, we must not drop points to small teams. Those are points that are important come the end of the season.”
