Napoli hitman Jose Callejon said his debut Spain call is “one of the happiest moments of my life.”

Currently Serie A Capocannoniere with eight goals, the forward was brought in by Coach Vicente Del Bosque.

“At the end of training, the press officer walked towards me: Del Bosque was announcing the squad list,” Callejon explained to Cadena Cope.

“Albiol kept saying I was going to be called up and I shut him up, telling him he was bringing bad luck!

“I am very happy, as a player always tries to give his best and do better every day. I will try to stay in the Spain squad.

“That call-up is right up there as one of the happiest moments of my life, behind the birth of my daughter and my debut with Real Madrid.”

Also called up thanks to Serie A form is Juventus striker Alvaro Morata.

“I wrote to Morata with my compliments and wished him the best.”
