Hakan Calhanoglu received a less than warm welcome back to training after injury, showing off the damage done by one of his Inter teammates as he warms up for Venezia and Arsenal.

The midfielder has been out of action since sustaining a muscular injury during international duty with Turkey on September 7.

He returned to training today along with defender Francesco Acerbi, who are both expected to feature on Sunday evening at San Siro against Venezia in Serie A.

If Calhanoglu was expecting a gentle reintroduction to the training ground, he did not get it, because he showed off the nasty cut to his shin on Instagram Stories.

There should be wide-scale squad rotation from coach Simone Inzaghi ahead of the Champions League showdown against Arsenal.

There are reports Josep Martinez could get his debut in goal rather than Yann Sommer, with Mehdi Taremi stepping in for Marcus Thuram.

It remains to be seen whether Kristjan Asllani will be fit to start, so Piotr Zielinski could be in midfield.
