The Azzurri had initially asked for the player on loan, with a clause that would force them to buy him outright in the summer should they qualify for the Champions League.

Late last night, the Azzurri contacted the Tuscan minnows and agreed to match the offer made by the two other Serie A clubs.
An official announcement could be made on Friday. The 31-year-old will thus return to Napoli, a club he left in 2008 for Siena.
