Riccardo Calafiori’s arrival to London to undergo medical tests with Arsenal has been postponed, but the Italian defender is expected to land in England this morning.

Calafiori is on the verge of joining Arsenal in a deal worth over €45m. The Bologna defender was expected to land in London on Friday night, but his arrival in the English capital has been postponed to allow Arsenal and Bologna to complete all formal documents, reports Fabrizio Romano.

This means that Calafiori will only arrive in England on Saturday morning to undergo the first part of medical tests and then join the rest of the team in the USA.

Why Calafiori’s arrival for Arsenal medical was postponed

Bologna director Claudio Fenucci confirmed for the first time on Friday that the Italian defender would leave the club.

Calafiori joined Bologna from Basel for just €4m in the summer of 2023.

His performances at the Stadio Dall’Ara last season helped the Rossoblu to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in over 60 years.

Calafiori made his senior Italy debut in June, just a few days before the start of the Euros.

  1. Cant wait for this boy to sign for Arsenal. There’s nothing I hate more than these prolonged signings. I kept checking for Breaking News on this matter, the whole week.
