Riccardo Calafiori had been ‘dreaming of this moment’ his whole life after scoring his spectacular debut Roma goal.
It was an absolute stunner too, hitting it first time with his left foot from 20 metres into the top corner in a 3-1 Europa League victory over Young Boys.
“I’d been dreaming of this moment for I don’t know how long,” confessed the 18-year-old to Sky Sport Italia.

“I’d been dreaming of this moment for I don’t know how long,” confessed the 18-year-old to Sky Sport Italia.
“The only thing that would’ve made it more amazing was to have fans in the stadium.”
Not only was this Calafiori’s first start for Roma, it also marked the end of a nightmare two-year period in which he suffered two serious injuries.
“It was the most difficult period of my life, but now it’s also the most wonderful. I did things that seemed impossible.
“I worked so hard, because at the end of the day, I feel like I was born to play football. I have made my dream come true and now I hope to keep doing that for as long as possible.”
