Reports in Italy claim Tottenham are interested in Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori, but the Rossoblu don’t want to sell in January.
Spurs have recently signed Radu Dragusin from Genoa for €31m, including add-ons, but reports in Italy claim they are now monitoring another Serie A defender.
Il Resto del Carlino reported on Thursday that the North Londoners had set their sights on the product of Roma academy and La Gazzetta dello Sport mentions ‘British rumours’ linking the 19-year-old with a move to Tottenham.
Calafiori joined Bologna on a €4m deal from Basel last summer and has been one of the key players for Thiago Motta’s Bologna this term, collecting 17 Serie A appearances.
He was supposed to play as a left-back when he first moved to the Dall’Ara, but Motta has been using him as a central defender and his performances have been so impressive that Italy coach Luciano Spalletti said the 21-year-old is ‘ready’ for the national team.
According to Gazzetta, Bologna are not considering selling Calafiori or any other key player for Motta this month.
The defender’s contract at the Stadio Dall’Ara expires in June 2027.
