Italy star Riccardo Calafiori thanks Arsenal fans after making his first appearance with the Gunners: ‘You made me feel at home. First of many!’

Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta introduced Calafiori in the second half of Sunday’s 2-0 win over Lyon. Calafiori showed his versatility on the pitch playing both as a centre-back and as a left-back.

After the game, he posted a message on social media thanking Arsenal fans for the warm welcome.

“Thanks for the support and for the welcome; you made me feel at home, guys. First of many,” wrote the Italian.

Calafiori has joined Arsenal from Bologna for a reported €50m fee including add-ons.

He made his senior Italy debut in June, just a few days before the Azzurri’s first match at Euro 2024 against Albania.

A product of Roma‘s academy, Calafiori has played 43 Serie A games and scored two goals, both against Juventus in May 2024.

The 22-year-old has signed a contract until 2029 at the Emirates Stadium.
