The Rossoneri were thrashed 4-0 at home by Napoli on Sunday night, piling on the pressure following a defeat to Genoa.

“The current situation at Milan is not good,” Calabria told La Repubblica while on Italy Under-21s duty.

“We’re trying to get out [of the situation] after a few years which have unfortunately been like this. I hope that with the the club and the new players we can get out of this situation, for the fans too.

“I’m happy to be here with the Under-21s, it’s an incredible emotion. I wasn’t expecting it, but after three good games for Milan they were happy with what I can do.

“To immediately forget the defeat to Napoli is difficult. After a few good games we undid that against Genoa and Napoli, it wasn’t easy but it’s a blow, and we have to put it out of our minds and always improve.

“I’m with the national team, so I’m not thinking about Milan, just the national team. Then I’ll go back to the club and try to do my best as always.”
