Davide Calabria acknowledges Milan are lacking a clinical finisher like Kylian Mbappé after firing blanks again, but insists ‘it is certainly not over’ for Champions League progress.

They were swept aside 3-0 at Parc des Princes by Kylian Mbappé, Randal Kolo Muani and Kang-in Lee, whereas the Rossoneri were again toothless in attack.

“There are regrets for the first two games, but today PSG were better and more organised,” Calabria told Amazon Prime Video Italia.

“We are just not finishing our chances at the moment. They have a phenomenon who finds the net at his first opportunity and this is what we are lacking.

“As I said, the real regrets are over the first two matches, that is where we could’ve had more points.”

It is no secret where the problems lie for the Rossoneri, as this was their fifth consecutive Champions League match without finding the net, including both legs of the semi-final against Inter last season.

At the same time, while they had played 0-0 draws against Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund, they leaked goals today and Mike Maignan kept the scoreline down.

“We could’ve done better when we had the ball, but we decided to go one-against-one with them and that left us unbalanced. We also had a few too many yellow cards at the start and that made it difficult to close them down too.”

Milan and Benfica are the only sides who have not yet found the net in the Champions League this term, yet the group is not entirely beyond reach.

PSG are now top on six points, followed by Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund on four, then Milan with two.

“It is tough, but certainly not over, so we will give it out best. Anyone who doesn’t believe can stay home. We believe.”
