“We showed last season how much we cared about this competition and we want to go all the way again,” the full-back told Milan TV.

The Rossoneri lost the Final to Juventus in May, but gained revenge by beating the Bianconeri for the Italian Super Cup in December.

In a curious twist of fate, Milan will face Verona again in Serie A on Sunday, but that will be at the Stadio Bentegodi.

“We have prepared for this match knowing that we’ll play them again at the end of this week, but for the moment we are focused only on this encounter.”

Gennaro Gattuso earned his first win on the Diavolo bench by shelving the three-man defence for a 4-3-3 formation.

“We’ve only just changed the system, so we’re going to try to hone it and continue improving,” concluded Calabria.
