Napoli have agreed a deal with Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town for the transfer of Sweden international Jens Cajuste, who only moved to the Stadio Maradona this time last year.
Cajuste set to swap Napoli for Ipswich
The Partenopei midfielder is set to join the East Anglian outfit on an initial loan deal with an option to buy.
Ipswich will pay a fee of €1.5m to bring Cajuste in for the season, and will have the option to pay a further €13.5m to make the move permanent later in the season, according to updates from Gianluca Di Marzio.
The 25-year-old has been in London over the last week, and even completed a medical with fellow Premier League representatives Brentford, only for that move to collapse.
Cajuste joined Napoli from Stade de Reims last August in a deal understood to be worth somewhere in the region of €12m.
Since then, he has gone on to make 35 appearances in all competitions, including 26 in Serie A, but only 11 of those league appearances came as a starter.
The 25-year-old struggled to cement himself as a starter in the Partenopei midfield after a conveyor belt of new coaches at the Stadio Maradona last season, and is also not part of Antonio Conte’s plans for the 2024-25 season.
