Fiorentina have opened talks with Napoli to start discussing a possible move for midfielder Jens Cajuste, reports detail.

The 24-year-old Swedish midfielder joined the Partenopei from Stade Reims last year for around €12m, putting pen to paper on a five-year contract. He struggled for consistent playing time in his debut season, seeing just over 1000 minutes of action across 26 Serie A games.

Napoli have started to bolster Antonio Conte’s squad, signing Alessandro Buongiorno and Rafa Marin, but are still waiting to sell Victor Osimhen so they can pull the trigger on a number of other deals, like the one for Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku.

Fiorentina explore Cajuste move

Gianluca Di Marzio details how Fiorentina have opened talks with Napoli to start exploring a move for Cajuste, wanting to add another reinforcement to Raffaele Palladino’s midfield in Florence.

The Partenopei are open to a definitive sale, but the Viola would prefer to sign the 24-year-old on a loan deal with a buy option attached.
