The Italy international has been strongly linked with a move this summer and was reportedly the subject of a bid from Manchester United on Saturday.

However, Cairo revealed that the Red Devils are not the only interested party and set a deadline of the club beginning pre-season training in Bormio on Sunday for a sale.

“Everyone who comes to Bormio will stay for the rest of the year,” Cairo told La Stampa.

“Extra time has begun and on Sunday there will be the final whistle, that is the deadline.

“Three concrete offers have arrived for Darmian, but out of respect for those who made the offers  I won’t reveal them.

“An extraordinary player like Matteo will want to try and win the Champions League and Toro can’t win it.”
