Torino President Urbano Cairo hinted he is open to discussing Andrea Belotti’s €100m release clause. “It’s only valid for abroad. We’ll see.”

Il Gallo’s price-tag has dropped this season due to a series of injuries and poor form, both at club level and for Italy.

This fuelled speculation the self-confessed Milan supporter could move to San Siro in the summer for around €40-50m.

This fuelled speculation the self-confessed Milan supporter could move to San Siro in the summer for around €40-50m.

“I haven’t thought about the clause anymore, as we discussed it two years ago when drawing up the contract,” Cairo told Mediaset Premium.

“It’s only valid for abroad, we’ll see what to do, but it’s not a problem. The important thing now is to finish off the season with these eight games, some very important against Inter, Milan and Napoli. We must give our best and then see where we end up.”

There was one transfer story Cairo could confirm, though.

“Nicolas N’Koulou has been bought out, as his clause was activated automatically by the number of games played. He will be staying with us.”
