Urbano Cairo insists he ‘never thought about sacking Marco Giampaolo' and claims he will soon offer Andrea Belotti a contract extension.
The Granata have lost 19 points from winning position and are in the relegation zone with six points in 10 games.
“I trust Giampaolo, I really respect him and I never thought about sacking him,” Cairo told GR Parliament.
“We often play excellent first halves, we would have 20 points at the end of the first 45 minutes.

“I trust Giampaolo, I really respect him and I never thought about sacking him,” Cairo told GR Parliament.
“We often play excellent first halves, we would have 20 points at the end of the first 45 minutes.
“I can see the hand of the coach, now it is necessary the next step. The players must understand the heart and the determination of the coach. You need a positive wickedness, because if you are ahead in the final minutes, you can’t throw away wins, again and again.
“We have important values and we have strengthened the team in the summer. Against Juve we have conceded two identical goals, it is not possible. In times of difficulty you have to give something more.
“Now everything looks dark, but we have to give our best and then things will change be positive again. We can start a new cycle with Giampaolo.”
Andrea Belotti has seven goals in the opening nine Serie A games of the season.
“We have great respect and trust in our captain, surely the goal is to keep him with us. Now we are going to talk to him about the contract extension, this is our idea and we are working with [Torino’s director of sport Davide] Vagnati.”
The current agreement of the 26-years-old expires in June 2022, he has a €100m release clause included in his contract.
