Torino President Urbano Cairo robustly denies that Bruno Peres or Nikola Maksimovic will leave – ‘The market is closed’.

Both defenders have been linked with moves away from the Granata throughout the summer but Cairo ruled out their departures, despite suggesting that Amauri could go.

“Bruno Peres leaving? It’s out of the question, he won’t go and the market is closed,” he said to Tuttosport.

“Maksimovic? He’ll stay and that’s that.

“Maksimovic? He’ll stay and that’s that.

“Have Napoli presented an offer? It’s a closed case. And when I say something is closed, that means closed.

“Amauri? We are trying to find a solution that satisfies everyone. There’s not only Carpi tracking him, so we'll see.

“For now the player is training with us to keep fit but he wants space and we will try to help him.

Cairo also commented on Toro’s opening match of the season on Sunday, a 2-1 win over newly promoted Frosinone.

"It was a great first match and Torino played well. We created many scoring chances, dominated possession and could’ve scored more.

“When you go down a goal you risk losing your head – we didn’t.

“And we also won while leaving €20m on the bench."
