Felipe Caicedo will wear the Number 88 jersey at Inter and thanks his old Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi for this opportunity. ‘Proud to be the first Ecuadorian at Inter.’

The striker had been at Genoa this season after a long period working with Inzaghi at Lazio, but reunited with the tactician at San Siro today.

“I am eager to do well and first of all must thank coach Inzaghi, as he did everything to get me here,” Caicedo told Inter TV.

Official: Inter announce Caicedo transfer and details of the deal

“I am very happy and can’t wait to start training and playing for Inter. I’m very proud to be able to represent my country and be the first Ecuadorian at Inter.”

There is quite a colony of ex-Lazio players now working with Inzaghi at Inter, including Joaquin Correa and Stefan de Vrij.

“I worked with him for four years at Lazio and now we are together again at Inter. His presence was very important and immediately convinced me, so I thank him and can’t wait to get going.

“I spoke to Tucu Correa as well and he told me everything. He was my teammate at Lazio for three years and I was missing him, so I’m glad we’re working together again.”

Caicedo had become known as a super-sub at Lazio, coming off the bench to change games with late goals and never grumbling at the amount of playing time he received.

“If the goals arrive before the 90th minute, those are good too!”

  1. Good player! We should have never let him go in the first place! Muriqi should have gone but he only stayed as Tare was trying to justify 💶 18,000,000 😂😂

  2. @Zambrotta… we DO have more and it’s happened in this century… what we don’t have is Serie B trophy, must be absolute nice to have in your trophy cabinet!
