Giovanni Simeone had opened the scoring after just seven minutes and that seemed to hold on, but Luis Alberto at the 92nd minute and Caicedo after 97 minutes and 27 seconds turned it around.

“We believed, I said even two weeks ago after Sassuolo that this team has learned a lot. We are very good at keeping the game alive to the end,” Caicedo told Sky Sport Italia.

“I am happy to have scored again, I think this group deserves all its success. Cagliari are a great team, the revelation of this campaign and are particularly tough to beat on home turf, so this victory is worth even more than three points.”

This is Lazio’s eighth Serie A victory in a row and puts them within three points of joint leaders Inter and Juventus.

“We must keep taking it one game at a time. We know there’s a long road ahead of us, but we are in good shape. I cannot talk about the Scudetto, but we will fight to the end.”
