Sportitalia insist Lazio will simply register Caicedo and give up their pursuit of Iran international Sardar Azmoun from Rubin Kazan.

While Sky have the transfer fee at €3m, Sportitalia claim it is closer to €5m including bonuses.

The centre-forward turns 29 in September and has already played for the likes of Manchester City, Sporting CP and Malaga.

Last season he scored two goals in 27 Liga appearances for Espanyol.
