Massimiliano Allegri and Paulo Dybala

It’s fourth versus fourth from bottom in these Cagliari vs. Juventus predictions, as the Bianconeri aim to bounce back from Derby d’Italia defeat. The hosts have lost their last four and could be in for another long evening on Saturday.

 Cagliari vs. Juventus odds

1 – Juventus to win – 9/13

2 – Juventus to keep a clean sheet – 6/5

3 – Over away 2.5 goals – 19/2

4 – Paolo Dybala to score first – 17/4

5 – Joao Pedro to score anytime – 7/2

Cagliari are in the midst of an injury crisis as they welcome Juventus to the Sardegna Arena this weekend. Max Allegri’s side are not out of the Serie A title race just yet, despite what he might say, and the Bianconeri will be keen to get back to winning ways this weekend.

A solid spell for Cagliari at the start of the calendar year saw them rise out of the relegation zone. However, recent results have seen them plummet back into danger, with last weekend’s 5-1 defeat to Udinese particularly damaging.

Walter Mazzarri has one of the weakest squads in Serie A and injuries to key players such as Nahitan Nandez, Kevin Strootman and Leonardo Pavoletti stretch the side even further. Against the might of Juventus it is difficult to see anything other than an away win, with a bet in favour of the Old Lady advised.

Defeat in the Derby d’Italia may have been a psychological blow for the Bianconeri, however, it should not mask the fact that Juventus had been on an unbeaten streak in the league since November 27. Against lower-table opposition the Piedmontese side have been particularly prolific, putting three past Sampdoria and Empoli in recent weeks. A punt on over 2.5 goals for the visitors could well pay off this weekend.

Deciding who may score the goals for Allegri is a more difficult matter. Dusan Vlajovic has appeared to go off the boil and instead it was Paulo Dybala who looked most likely to create against Inter last weekend. The Argentine is set to leave in the summer but has good odds to score first this weekend.

Another interesting bet would be on the away side keeping a clean sheet against the Isolani. Cagliari have been one of the worst offensive teams in the league, scoring less than a goal a game, and have scored just one goal in their last six matches against their weekend opponents.

Should this not be the case, it is worth keeping an eye on Joao Pedro, who at times appears to be single-handedly dragging the Rossoblu to Serie A survival. The forward has 11 goals to his name, not to mention four assists, and will be a threat on the counter-attack against Giorgio Chiellini.
