According to Sky Sport Italia, the two sides have also been organising another deal with an exchange of goalkeepers.

Amelia was recently bought out from Genoa, so Milan aim to send him to Cagliari in a swap with Marchetti, who has been frozen out for a year due to a contract dispute.

This evening the Sardinians officially announced they had not taken up their options on Robert Acquafresca, Simone Missiroli and Simon Laner, who were all on loan this term.
