Cagliari have officially released Ragnar Klavan and Kwadwo Asamoah, ending loans for Arturo Calabresi, Alfred Duncan, Radja Nainggolan, Daniele Rugani and Riccardo Sottil.

The news was announced this evening, just shy of the midnight deadline for the expiry of their contracts.

Klavan had been at the Sardegna Arena for three seasons, making 64 appearances for the club, but had fallen down the pecking order in recent months.

Asamoah arrived on a short-term contract as a free agent in February 2021.

Calabresi returns to Bologna after his six-month loan, Duncan heads back to Fiorentina along with Sottil, Nainggolan goes to Inter and Rugani to Juventus.

Cagliari had activated their option to buy Sottil, but Fiorentina in turn used their counter-option to keep the Italy Under-21 international.

Negotiations continue with Inter to make the Nainggolan move permanent.
