Cagliari presented new signing Martin Caceres, while Keita Balde Diao also joined training for the first time.
The Sardinians brought in Keita from AS Monaco for free, but the Ligue 1 giants will retain 25 per cent of any future transfer fee.
As for Uruguay international defender Caceres, he was a free agent after his contract with Fiorentina ran down.
He put pen to paper at the Sardegna Arena until June 2022.
There is a Uruguayan theme running through the Cagliari squad, as he joins Diego Godin and Nahitan Nandez, making him the 23rd player from this country to represent the club throughout history.
“I am happy to have arrived and it’s a club with a strong history in football. To be honest, what pushed me here more than anything was speaking to Diego and Nahitan, they were giving me advice and telling me to come here,” said the 34-year-old.
“I hope to bring some of my experience to the younger players in the side. I can play as a centre-back, full-back, striker, goalkeeper, whatever you need!”
