Cagliari director Stefano Capozucca admits it’ll be another ‘long summer’ for Radja Nainggolan, because ‘Inter haven’t the slightest intention of understanding our needs.’

This is the midfielder’s second loan spell in Sardinia, but despite not having a place in the Nerazzurri squad, he still won’t be sold at a loss.

“It’s going to be another long summer for Nainggolan,” Capozucca said in a press conference.

“I met with Inter yesterday and they haven’t the slightest intention of understanding our needs or taking a step towards our position.

“Radja was fundamental in securing Cagliari safety in Serie A this season and I am proud to have someone like him in the squad.

“It’s not an easy situation to deal with.”

Capozucca also confirmed Cagliari will not buy defender Daniele Rugani outright after the six-month loan from Juventus.

“He is not part of our plans.”
