Cagliari are looking for a new left back and are keen on signing Riccardo Calafiori on a loan deal.

The Rossoblu are searching for a new full back as Dalbert seems set to leave the club in next month’s transfer window and expiring full back Charalampos Lykogiannis is unlikely to receive a contract renewal, so a new player is needed for the role.

As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, Cagliari are considering signing Torino’s Cristian Ansaldi, but their top target is the 19-year-old Calafiori, who has hardly featured under coach Jose Mourinho this season.

The Italian teenager could join Cagliari on a six-month loan deal, providing Walter Mazzarri with a short-term reinforcement ahead of next summer’s transfer window.

Calafiori, who is contracted to Roma until 2025, has made six Serie A appearances this season for the Giallorossi, for a total of 172 minutes. In that time, he has provided one assist, in the 1-0 win over Udinese.
