Cagliari have sent the squad into a training retreat to prepare for Tuesday’s final game of the year against Juventus, after back-to-back 4-0 defeats.

The Sardinians are sliding towards relegation and were jeered off the field by their fans after last night’s 4-0 home loss to Udinese.

That came hot on the heels of a similar humiliation at the hands of Inter at San Siro, meaning Cagliari have just one Serie A victory all season.

The club came out to assure coach Walter Mazzarri is not in danger and is indeed the ‘only certainty’ for them at this stage.

Director Leonardo Capozucca warned the defeat to Udinese was the last time some of these players will wear the Cagliari jersey.

Meanwhile, the squad has been placed into a training retreat ahead of Tuesday’s final game of 2021 against Juventus at the Allianz Juventus Stadium in Turin.

Nahitan Nandez will not be making the trip, as he limped off at half-time last night with a flexor issue in his left thigh.
