Cagliari coach Walter Mazzarri has struggled to turn things around in Sardinia, but the Rossoblu have reportedly decided to continue with the current coach in charge.

President Tommaso Giulini recently showed public support after a difficult run of games in the top division and continues to do so after the fourth straight defeat in the league.

Cagliari are bottom in Serie A with only six points from the first 12 games and the Casteddu are currently three points behind safety.

Genoa and Sampdoria have picked up nine points and sit 17th and 18th respectively, while Salernitana are squeezed in between the Ligurians and the Sardinians.

Cagliari patron Giulini: ‘Mazzarri a certainty’

Mazzarri replaced Leonardo Semplici after only three games in 2021-22 but has not managed to make an immediate impact at the Sardegna Arena.

Since the 2-2 draw against Lazio in his first game with Cagliari, the Rossoblu have picked up four more points in eight games.

Cagliari are currently on a run of four consecutive defeats in the top flight and the pressure increases on the coach.

But he signed a two-year contract upon his arrival, with an option for a third year, and the patron continues to have faith in the former Torino tactician.
