Cagliari are extremely worried after Marko Rog made his comeback from a knee injury, only to seemingly suffer a relapse.

The midfielder had been out of action since December 23, 2020, due to the anterior ligament tear he sustained during the match against Roma.

He was on the sidelines for seven months and made his return today as a substitute during the friendly against Augsburg.

However, Sky Sport Italia report he sustained another injury to the same knee and there are very real concerns it could be a relapse of the original ACL tear.

The injury already forced the Croatia international to miss UEFA EURO 2020.

Former Napoli midfielder Rog turned 26 earlier this month.

If the injury is confirmed, it makes the push to sign Radja Nainggolan from Inter even more urgent, as they are short on midfield options.

Today’s friendly ended 3-1 for Augsburg, with Joao Pedro grabbing a late consolation goal in Germany.
