Cagliari patron Tommaso Giulini believes his club is doing Inter “a favour” by helping Radja Nainggolan return to his best form in Sardinia.

The former Roma midfielder has played a key role in the Rossoblu’s rise to Serie A top six this season, but he only returned on loan after Antonio Conte froze him out of his plans for the Nerazzurri.

“We are satisfied,” Giulini told Radio Anch’io Sport. “He is happy to be back in Cagliari and we’re happy with his performances.

“He’s a decisive leader in our matches and in the way he pulls the team forward”

The President then admitted a permanent deal for Radja would be “difficult” to pull off.

“We are not thinking about it now, the time to start talking will be in March or April, even if there’s not much to talk about.

“He is an Inter player, of great value and has bounced back well. Unfortunately, I think we are doing Inter a favour. I think it will be difficult.”

The ex-Belgium international has scored four goals in his 14 League appearances this season.
