Borriello was not present, as he completed his transfer to Spal today, but the striker had insisted it was a perfectly civilised discussion.
However, President Giulini painted a very different picture with his comments to Mediaset Premium.
“I don’t think Borriello showed respect or gratitude for a club that gave him a great opportunity. Borriello showed a lack of respect to the Coach, his teammates and the city.
“We have certain values and evidently they do not match up with those of Borriello. He is moving to Spal, who funnily enough are paying him twice as much as he earned here.”
Giulini was asked about rumours Cagliari are in talks with Fenerbahce for Van der Wiel.
“It’s true, we are in talks and I hear they are progressing well.”
