Cagliari are reportedly interested in bringing former Inter striker Eder back from China, but his high wages could prove to be a stumbling block.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport reporter Nicolò Schira, the Rossoblu want to kick off their centenary celebrations in 2020 by bringing in the veteran striker.

The Italy international joined Jiangsu Suning last year and is currently earning €5.2m per season in wages, which is too high for the Sardinians to match.

However, as the Nerazzurri are in negotiations with Cagliari for midfielder Nicolò Barella, there could be an arrangement made, as Suning Group, who owns both the Benemata and the Chinese Super League club, could help towards paying his salary.

Meanwhile, the Isolani also like Sampdoria’s Gianluca Caprari, Roma’s Gregoire Defrel and Camillo Ciano of newly relegated Frosinone.
