Cagliari hinted they are set to sign Manuel Almunia and Marco Capuano, sending Dario Del Fabro to Pescara.
The 37-year-old is a free agent, having played for the likes of Osasuna, Celta Vigo, Albacete, Arsenal and most recently Watford.
“From Pescara I am told we’ve agreed an exchange between Del Fabro and Capuano,” Cagliari President Tommaso Giulini told Sky Sport Italia.
“I still need to speak to Del Fabro, but I’m sure he will be happy to get regular playing time in Serie B.
“Tomorrow we will sign a goalkeeper with many Champions League appearances under his belt.”
Sky Sport Italia asked their sources and believe the man in question is ex-Arsenal shot-stopper Almunia, though it's reported they had tried for Julio Cesar and Mexico's World Cup hero Guillermo Ochoa.
The Serie A fixtures were drawn up today and Cagliari will face Roma in Week 3.
“It’ll be an emotional moment for Zdenek Zeman and Davide Astori.”
Zeman is facing his former club, while Astori only made the transfer from Cagliari to Roma last week.
