Martin Caceres admits it will be “obviously difficult” for Juventus to improve after “we lost some great players.”

The Uruguayan spoke to the official Juventus YouTube Channel ahead of Saturday’s Italian Super Cup against Lazio.

“We’ve been training for more than three weeks now and in pretty good shape, so we await this game with the desire to do well,” he said in Shanghai.

“After five months on the sidelines obviously I hope to not get injured again this season and to stay well. We have a very important game coming up in just five days’ time.

“We want to do our best for this shirt and obviously hope to win the Super Cup.

“We are in the thick of preparations, but we know this Final is in five days and we all want to win the trophy.”

Last term the Bianconeri came so close to completing the Treble, winning the Scudetto and Coppa Italia before losing the Champions League Final 3-1 to Barcelona.

Carlos Tevez, Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal have left this summer, while Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic and Sami Khedira came in.

“The new guys are settling in well and becoming part of the group. We’ll try to do better than last year, which obviously is difficult because we’ve lost some great players.

“The main target naturally is Serie A, but if we can win some other trophies then that’s even better.”
