Juventus made their first move to sign Martin Caceres back in October, agent Beppe Bozzo has revealed.

The Uruguayan returned to Turin for his second stint at the club in January, but only after months of negotiations.

“The Caceres operation started in October,” Bozzo told Tuttosport. “It was a difficult deal to do. The two clubs were maintaining their positions.

“However, the issue was resolved on December 23 after I had a lunch with the Sevilla club President.

“The boy never gave up, he strongly wanted Juventus – even if Paris Saint-Germain tried to enter the situation.”

Bozzo also represents David Pizarro, the Chilean who left Roma for Manchester City last month after initial links with La Signora.

“Juventus boss Antonio Conte was looking for a different type of midfielder,” the agent continued.

“Then false rumours about Pizarro’s physical condition started to circulate, but everything was fine in the end as he went to City.”
