Barcelona star Sergio Busquets confirms Franck Kessié will move to the Nou Camp: ‘I’m sure he’ll help us.’

The Spain international spoke to RAC1, confirming that the Ivorian midfielder will move to the club at the end of the current campaign.

“He has to fit in with the coach, who has surely seen him and signed him,” the Spain international admitted.

“I am happy to have a stronger team and that people want to come here. I’ve seen him play. He’s physically strong, doesn’t lose many balls, holds the ball well… I’m sure he’ll do well and help us”.

Why Milan fans feel betrayed by Barcelona-bound Kessié

Kessié refused to commit his future to Milan and signed a four-year deal with Barcelona. He has already undergone his medical with the La Liga giants. The 25-year-old joined Milan in a €24m deal from Atalanta in 2019.

He has scored 36 goals in 214 appearances with the Rossoneri during his time at the club, delivering 16 assists. Milan fans booed him during the last few home games as Kessié had claimed in the summer that he wanted to remain at Milan forever, adding that he was ready to sign a new deal with the club.

The Rossoneri are now on the lookout for a replacement and Lille’s Renato Sanches is their No.1 target to strengthen the midfield. Alessio Romagnoli is also expected to leave the club at the end of his contract in June.
