There are five Serie A players called up by new USMNT coach Mauricio Pochettino, including Christian Pulisic and the return of Venezia midfielder Gianluca Busio.
Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Pochettino was appointed last month and named his first squad, which will face Panama in a friendly on October 12 and then Mexico on October 15.
They will meet for training in Texas next week to meet the tactician.
There are five players based in Serie A called up to the USMNT, including Milan star Pulisic and his club teammate Yunus Musah.
Juventus pair Weston McKennie and Timothy Weah are also involved, despite the latter struggling with an injury problem in recent weeks.
The big surprise is the addition of Busio, who has impressed following Venezia’s promotion to Serie A.
The 23-year-old midfielder has 13 senior caps and one goal, but his most recent appearance was during the Gold Cup in July 2023.
So far this season, Busio has scored one goal in three Serie A games for Venezia, playing in a more advanced role behind the striker.
