Transfer expert Matteo Moretto confirms Torino‘s asking price for Alessandro Buongiorno is beyond ‘Milan‘s plans’, so the Italy international is expected to stay with the Granata in the January transfer window.

Milan have made Buongiorno one of their primary targets in the winter transfer window, but the Granata are unwilling to sell, especially for a fee below €35m.

La Liga and Serie A transfer pundit Matteo Moretto has confirmed to Caught Offside that the Granata’s asking price for their 24-year-old captain is beyond the plans of Milan owners, meaning the Rossoneri are not going to sign the Italy international this month.

It’s been confirmed that Milan held talks with the Granata, but negotiations ‘never reached a serious stage where the deal might happen,’ said Moretto.

Milan have recalled Matteo Gabbia from his loan at Villarreal this month, but Stefano Pioli has recently suggested that he expects a new signing in defence in the winter transfer window.

Buongiorno made his senior Italy debut in June 2023 and has two international appearances to his name.

He scored three goals in 17 Serie A appearances with Torino this season and his current deal with the Granata runs out in June 2028.
