Giulio Donati has reflected on the early differences he has noticed between life in Serie A and the Bundesliga.

The full-back moved out from Inter to Bayer Leverkusen this summer in a €3m deal and this has commented on how things are going.

“The passion for football is the same in Italy and Germany,” began Donati on Rai Sport this week.

“The difference I have noticed is in the stadiums, whilst we are also quite behind the Germans from an organisational aspect.”

The 23-year-old also reflected on his hopes for breaking into Italy’s senior set-up after a regular role with the Under-21s.

“Playing for Italy is a dream, but for now I want to focus first on my club for who I play for and then possibly to think about the national team.”
