Multiple reports in Italy claim Italy legend Gianluigi Buffon will soon announce his retirement after rejecting an offer from Saudi Arabia.

The 45-year-old has one year left in his contract with Serie B side Parma and according to Sky Sport Italia and Tuttosport, he has rejected an offer to join the Saudi Pro League this season.

Both media claim Buffon has not only decided against moving abroad but will also announce his retirement in the next few days.

As per Tuttosport, Buffon could confirm his decision today, while according to Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, the former Juventus keeper will announce his retirement over the next few days.

The legendary goalkeeper won the World Cup with Italy in 2006 and is the player with the most Serie A appearances.

Buffon has played for Parma, Juventus and PSG, combining 1.151 competitive appearances from clubs and country.
