Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon has moved again to deny rumours linking him with a move to Manchester United.

The Italy international's future was the subject of much speculation last week after it emerged he had missed a team photo shoot and hadn't been to see any of Juventus' games so far this season.

Buffon is recovering from back surgery, which he underwent after the World Cup in South Africa.

Interviewed in Tuttosport, he said: "Everything is going according to plan. I will return in the time that was pre-established, so in January.

"You suffer more [being out of the team]. There is no doubt. I am not used to it, but these are things that form part of a sportsman's life.

"A strong team is being born at Juventus. Things are improving week by week. It's the right path.

"All [the new signings] are doing well, citing only one wouldn't be right. The group must be celebrated, because right now it's that which is making the difference."

When asked about the speculation regarding his future, Buffon said: "I am used to living with these rumours. It's been six years that people have been speaking about Manchester United, but it doesn't seem to me like anything has ever happened."
